FAIRBANKS — Jim Wilde, the 71-year-old Central resident at the middle of a recent dispute about federal jurisdiction on state waterways, has appealed his misdemeanor conviction on charges stemming from an encounter with National Park Service rangers in the Yukon-Charley Rivers National Preserve.
“Regardless of the position people take on Jim’s behavior, the legal issue transcends that,” Wilde’s attorney, Bill Satterberg of Fairbanks said.
