The state's largest herring fishery will extend its season into June this year, with Togiak's gillnetters still pushing toward their 2012 quota.
The season closed for seiners as of 10 p.m. on Monday. That 16-boat fleet brought in 13,084 tons, delivering 86 percent of their 15,135-ton quota.
That percentage is just short of typical, said ADF&G Nushagak and Togiak Management Biologist Tim Sands.
