Officials provided a glimpse of the systems and methods used to control the X-47B Navy drone (video)

On 31 July US Navy officials invited journalists on board Naval Air Station Patuxent River, Maryland, for a special "media day" on unmanned aircraft systems. Captain Jaime Engdahl, programme manager for unmanned combat air systems, described the first flight of the X-47B from the base on 29 July, and officials provided a glimpse of the systems and methods used to control the X-47B in an aircraft carrier environment. The X-47B is scheduled to complete a shipboard landing on a US carrier in 2014.
